6th and 7th Grade Math Learning Specialist - Brian Frye A little about me: As a boy I was told I was better than my peers at math, probably because I memorized my times tables younger than others, but later I was told I wasn't smart enough for Calculus class! Thankfully, since then, I've learned that neither of those messages were healthy for me. Anyone can be successful in math (and enjoy it!) if we're each given the support we need. I'm joining East Side in 2019 after 11 years teaching middle and high school in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I got a degree in Psychology at Boston University and a Masters in Education from LIU Brooklyn. I was born in New Hampshire and I love hiking and camping in the forest with my son. Special math interests: I am interested in the ways scientists use math models to predict things like climate change, the melting polar ice, and rising sea levels.
